‘Doctor Zhivago’, the masterpiece film that David Lean created drawing from Boris Pasternak’s novel, with Omar Sharif, Julie Christie, Geraldine Chaplin, Alec Guinness and Rod Steiger, comes back to life: the British Film Institute has restored it thanks to the 4K technology and the exploits of the doctor, Lara and the other characters will return in theaters, digitized and brought to new splendor on November 27, fifty years after the first release.
‘Il dottor Živago’, il capolavoro cinematografico che David Lean creò basandosi sul romanzo di Boris Pasternak, con Omar Sharif, Julie Christie, Geraldine Chaplin, Alec Guinness e Rod Steiger, torna a vivere: il British Film Institute lo ha restaurato grazie alla tecnologia del 4K e le gesta del dottore, di Lara e degli altri personaggi torneranno nelle sale, digitalizzate e portate a nuovo splendore il prossimo 27 novembre, a cinquant’anni dalla prima uscita.
It’s a pity, while a singular coincidence, that Omar Sharif decided to leave us just this year, on July the 10th.
In 2002 a television series was made, starred by Keira Knightly, Hans Matheson and Sam Neill; as for the British Film Institute, in the past has also restored ‘2001: A Space Odyssey‘, ‘Blade Runner‘ and ‘The Shining‘.
