la pasqua di Maddalena

As my readers know, the tradition of Mary Magdalene and the possibility that she was the Jesus’ companion, has always turned my attention on.

On Easter, according to an ‘ancient tradition related to the figure of Mary Magdalene, in the Orthodox Countries people use to color eggs in red.

The tradition has it that the Saint, having told Peter of the Resurrection, was answered with a strong disbelief and denial. The eggs she kept in her womb, though, became coloured in a bright vermilion, the same of the blood, and only that miracle was able to convince Peter, who decided only then to go to the tomb for checking what had happened.

I am also pleased to report a personnel suspect, I currently consider as a simple suggestion.

The legend of the ‘ sang real ‘ has it that Mary Magdalene, after the well-known events, moved to France.

In the Gospel it is written as following:

“Now go your way, tell His disciples and Peter that he goes before you into Galilee” (Mt, 28, 7; Mk 16: 7).

What if … what if … Galilee was a misprint for ‘Gallia’ , that is the Latin name of France?

Dan Brown would have a toast… And we with him…
