A very interesting experiment, among the most awaited of the season, ‘American Gods’ is drawn from the homonymous Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel and deals with religion, mythology, life. Throughout the history, many gods and many religions passed and, traditional divinities a part, many people consider money, success, technology and mass media likely to be venerated, even more than the others. Now, according to Neil Gaiman, adapted for TV by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, the Gods to be taken into consideration are those ones of the traditions, such as Votan/Odin, Baldr, Anubi, Loki, Vulcan, a Jesus of Nazareth now used at hitchhiking and hippie habits and, as well, Mr. World, Technical Boy, Media, Salim. The very mysterious Mr. Wednesday has a very particular intent…
Neil Gaiman, who also wrote ‘Good Omens’, with Terry Pratcher, ‘The Monarch of Glen’, ‘Anansi Boys’ and ‘Sandman’ from which the character of Lucifer is taken from, is now willing to write ‘The Seven Sister’, a sequel fo ‘Neverwhere’ and, maybe, a second book of American Gods.
