the latest from Disney

Life and Death are always dialoguing, at Disney and old films can have a second opportunity to get our souls and fill our inner worlds with the magic.

1963′ ‘The Sword in the Stone’ (in Italy ‘La spada nella roccia’), is said it will have a live-action remake, Brian Cogman (‘Game of Thrones’) is said to be already working on the screenplay, while Brigham Taylor will be the producer.

According to Tracking-board, Disney will also make ‘Pretty Princess 3’, with or without Anne Hathaway. A sequel? A remake? A reboot?

No clear yet. The first one, in 2001,  directed by Garry Marshall, produced by Debra Chase, starred by Julie Andrews (who could act this third episode too) and by a very young Anne Hathaway who was going to take off her success, was quite good. The second, ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement’ (2004), quite good too.

What about ‘Maleficent‘? Well, ‘Maleficent 2’ is going to arrive! Linda Woolverton will write this second chapter but Angelina Jolie is not sure at all as the star, since she is currently involved in direction and declared, after ‘Cleopatra’, to be willing to leave acting.

It is virtually impossible to deal with all the Disney initiatives; hereafter some titles that we will be able to see remade in the next future, almost for sure:

‘Alice 2’, ‘The Book of the Jungle 2’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Dumbo 2’, ‘Mulan 2’, ‘Winnie the Pooh’, ‘Pinocchio’,Trilli’ (a sort of live action prequel, starred by Reese Witherspoon), ‘Chip’n Dale Rescue Rangers’ and Night on Bald Mountain’ (Fantasia spin off)

It is to remember that Shawn Levy too is working on a “Trilli-based” film, an action-comedy with Melissa McCarthy; title is yet to be defined.
