the Resurrection of Christ according to Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson seems ready for ‘The Resurrection’, a sort of sequel of ‘The Passion of the Christ’. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Gibson and the screenplay writer Randall Wallace, the both already involved in ‘the Passion’, are working on this new film, likely to be considered a sequel of the previous.
As easy to imagine, ‘the Resurrection’ will be based on what Jesus Christ did once risen up from the death and what sort of incredible mistery had happened in His sepulchre; according to the canonic Gospel, Jesus made Mary Magdalene see Him for first and appeared to the disciples many times before getting back to the Heaven. (Someone has counted eight times in total but, what about the two people of Emmaus? And what of the apocryphal Gospels?)
Randall Wallace declared:

“I always wanted to tell this story. The Passion is the beginning and there’s a lot more story to tell”.

No studio or financial backing has been lined up yet for the project, which is still in the early script stage. But Wallace indicates there are several financiers interested in investing:

“It’s too early to talk money. This is such a huge and sacred subject”.

Nothing official, however, from Gibson. And neither something official regarding the cast, since ‘the Passion’ had been starred by James Caviezel, Maia Morgenstern, Monica Bellucci, Rosalinda Celentano, and the possibility they could be called again.
