News Corp. becomes 2. And a little more…

News Corp, the company founded by Rupert Murdoch, today is divided in two. Two different companies, the first to deal with entertainment (20th Century Fox and Fox TV), the other with publishing (Wall Street Journal, and Harper Collins). As for the boards of directors, the publishing will be directed by Rupert, James and Lachlan Murdoch with José Maria Aznar and the Italian former head of the Fiat John Elkann. 20th Century Fox will instead be administered by the Australian’s family and Delphine Arnault, daughter of Bernard.

Sky Italy, a few days ago, announced the arrival of Delia Bushell (41 years old) to the direction of Marketing & Sales, appointed as Chief Commercial Officer in order to develop strategies for growth and fidelization (Mrs. Bushell was Chief Strategy Officer & Commercial Initiatives since last May, had been working for twelve years in BSkyB and, before that, in Pearson and Arthur D Little).

Davide Tesoro Tess has become Strategy & Business Development Director and was born the Programming Direction, which matches together the directions Cinema, Entertainment, Partner Channels and Sky TG24. The macrostructure is led by Andrea Scrosati, flanked by Sarah Varetto that, promoted as Vice President News, adds this responsibility to the direction of SkyTG24.

Mockridge from Murdoch to Virgin Media

Tom Mockridge, 57 years old, from New Zealand, has been working twenty years as an important manager of News Corp., boss of Sky Italia and, since July 2011, leader of News international after the scandal of phone tapping (tabloid gate) that caused ‘News of the World’ be closed.
Now he is a competitor of Murdock, as he became the CEO of Virgin Media, British company acquired by Liberty Global, another giant in the field of international communication.

Murdoch acquisterà il 16,3% della quota detenuta da Malone in News Corp, e questi si rifarà con il 38,5% della TV satellitare murdochiana Direct Tv, più 550 milioni di $ in contanti e tre canali sportivi regionali.
