The Cannes festival’s top award, the Palme d’Or, went to Abdellatif Kechiche’s ‘La vie d’Adèle -chapitre 1 & 2 1 & 2 (Blue is the Warmest Color)’.
No award for Italian Paolo Sorrentino and ‘La grande bellezza‘.
Italy, however, won the special mention for the best short, Adriano Valerio’s ‘37°4 S’
and ‘Salvo, storia di mafia, miracolo e amore‘, by Antonio Piazza & Fabio Grassadonia got the grand prix of Semaine de la critique and the award as the revelation film.
