Straffi, Pinocchio, and friends!

aggiornamento: si celebra oggi il diciannovesimo ‘International Animation Day’, la Giornata mondiale del Cinema d’Animazione. Il poster ufficiale di quest’anno raffigura una fenice, efficace simbolo di rinascita.

Si chiama ‘Pinocchio and Friends’ l’ultima fatica del grande Iginio Straffi. È una serie animata in CGI, firmata Rainbow, realizzata in collaborazione con Rai Ragazzi, strutturata in ventisei emozionanti puntate; sarà presentata in anteprima sabato prossimo, 30 ottobre, sia al Lucca Comics & Games, sia all’Ittv Festival di Los Angeles. Sarà poi trasmessa su Rai YoYo dal 29 novembre, per essere lanciata sul mercato internazionale dal 2022.
Il fortunato pubblico di Lucca potrà accedere al Cinema Centrale della ridente città toscana alle 14.30, per degustare alcune puntate della serie e incontrare le mascotte di Pinocchio e della sua amica Freeda, accompagnate dai ballerini della “Rainbow Dance Crew”.
Saranno presenti il già citato Iginio Straffi, fondatore e presidente del Gruppo Rainbow nonché papà delle Winx, e Luca Milano, direttore di Rai Ragazzi. L’anteprima americana si terrà invece nella piazza di Little Italy di San Pedro, in quel di Los Angeles; colà lo Straffi sarà peraltro insignito del premio Kinéo/Ittv Award.

Pasquale Curatola holds degrees in Advertising studies and International Communication, alongside Master's degrees in Marketing & Brand Communication, Film & TV management, and Animated Films management. He has also trained in acting, participating in several workshops. As a manager, his 1st professional experience dates back to 1999 (Carat), though he likes to begin by telling of a letter he wrote at the age of 14 to Mediaset, offering his own strategic advice on schedules and programming. In 2003, he joined Cinecittà Entertainment, a company closely related to Cinecittà Studios and Italian Dreams Factory, where he contributed to the realization of several events and shows broadcast by SKY Italia and other channels, including Sinners, Non aprite quella porta, and Sulle rotte del cinema. In 2006, he worked on 'Santa Caterina', an animated short created by Mondo TV as a project work, and was involved in organizing I castelli animati as well as in the start-up phase of La città dell'animazione. That same year, he also launched his activity as a blogger (Pasquale Curatola's Blog) and author, with works spanning from essays and non-fiction to fantasy and comedy-thrillers (attività letteraria). His career also includes collaborations with news outlets and live shows for private channels, alongside PR experiences for high-profile clients such as AC Milan, Bank of New York, and Orange Business Services. He is a dedicated blood and organ donor.
