va (a) letto (2): is the bed mandatory?

British Actors and actresses are fed up with sexual harassment and ‘casting couch’. In an interesting article published on Daily Mail/ Mail on line, Elaine O’Flynn reports what some important actresses declares happened to them; e.g., Gwyneth Paltrow said early in her career a film executive suggested that a business meeting should finish ‘in the bedroom‘ and Charlize Theron that when she was 18, a Hollywood director wearing pyjamas made a pass at her.

Equity is the labor union which represents British performers and its president, Malcolm Sinclair, says ‘The casting couch has gone on since time immemorial. But, anecdotally, it’s getting worse’; in fact, the number of artists asked for details on their sex lives or to take their clothes out during auditions is actually increasing.
This is why Equity have now established a sort of precise guideline for agents, in order to stop with such inappropriate habits.
