Disney takes care of tales and music. These days Cinderella rules, directed by Kenneth Branagh, set designed by Dante Ferretti, costume designed by Sandy Powell, starred by Lily James, Richard Madden, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham-Carter, moreover preceded by ‘Frozen Fever‘ (a spin-off of the successful Frozen). It is not to wait long (April 2) for ‘Into the Woods‘, by Rob Marshall, inspired by the Stephen Sondheim musical, with lyrics by James Lapine.
Set into the magical world of the Grimm Brothers, the film foresees Johnny Depp in the role (and hair) of the Big Bad Wolf, Meryl Streep in those of a witch and, in other roles, Emily Blunt (Miller’s wife), Anna Kendrick (Cinderella) and Chris Pine (a rascal – prince). It would seem unnecessary to disturb the reminiscences of Semiotics and that Propp on psychoanalytic interpretations of Little Red Riding Hood, but it seems that the film, if not by Propp, just starts by Bruno Bettelheim and his fundamental ‘The Uses of Enchantment‘ and then moves with complete nonchalance including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk, the daughter of Miller, the aforementioned Red Riding Hood.
It was learned recently, also, that the remake of Dumbo will be directed by Tim Burton,

In questo periodo furoreggia ‘Cenerentola’ (di Kenneth Branagh, scenografie di Dante Ferretti, costumi di Sandy Powell, con Lily James, Richard Madden, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham-Carter), peraltro preceduta da ‘Frozen Fever’ (spin off del fortunatissimo Frozen) ma non si dovrà attendere molto (2 aprile) per ‘Into the woods’, film di Rob Marshall ispirato al musical di Stephen Sondheim, con testi di James Lapine.
Ambientato nel magico mondo dei fratelli Grimm, il film vede la partecipazione di Johnny Depp nei panni (e nel pelo) del Lupo Cattivo, Meryl Streep in quelli di una strega nonché, in altri ruoli, Emily Blunt (moglie del Mugnaio), Anna Kendrick (Cenerentola) e Chris Pine (un principe birichino). Sembrerebbe inutile scomodare le reminiscenze di Semiotica e quel Propp sulle interpretazioni psicanalitiche di Cappuccetto Rosso ma pare proprio che il film, se non da Propp, prenda le mosse da Bruno Bettelheim e dal suo fondamentale ‘Il mondo incantato’ per poi muoversi, con assoluta nonchalance, tra Cenerentola, Rapunzel, Jack e il fagiolo magico, la figlia del Mugnaio, la citata Cappuccetto Rosso.
Si è saputo da poco, inoltre, che il remake di Dumbo sarà diretto da Tim Burton,
