Recent Charlie Hebdo comic strips on Italian earthquake are disgusting and the problem is not on the right to satire or on the independence of different languages.
Respect is respect, and it is virtually impossible to understand what message is inside such things:
Neither it is enough the possible explanation given in another one:
We were aware of mafia, thank you. What does it have to do with your mocking earthquake victims?
However, Charlie Hebdo professionals Coco, Walter Foolz e Marika Bret will be in Cosenza (Calabria, South of Italy) on October 7 and 8, for a workshop within the Comics Festival “Le strade del paesaggio”
Update: on September 12, the Municipality of Amatrice, one of the towns affected by the earthquake, deposited at the public prosecutor office of Rieti a complaint for aggravated libel. The act was presented by the lawyer Mario Cicchetti, as the legal of Amatrice.
Update: Charlie Hebdo director, Riss, asked on the Italian complaint in a French radio show, told: «No fear at all! We did dozens of such comics, it is like any other, black humour».
