The World Digital Library includes over 20 thousand documents, including texts, images, maps, recordings, and it is available in seven languages.
It is not an exquisitely literary library, but rather a collection of anecdotes, curiosities and stimuli. On the website, which exists since the beginning of 2009, it is possible to access a series of historical articles, curious or surprising, maps, photos, recordings, and films, for a total amount of “19,147 articles on 193 countries, in the period between 8000 BC and 2000”.
