Walt Disney is in the paradise of filmmakers
since long years now but the good Tom Hanks
will take his features for a rare nobility of intent: to make
Mary Poppins revive and to tell its realization.
‘Saving Mr. Banks‘ will take us by the hand
and tell us as one of the most important films
of everyone imagination have come to light.
It was not an easy gestation, it is said, it took fourteen
long years and not a few were the misunderstandings
and quarrels between Disney and Pamela
Lyndon Travers (born Helen Lyndon Goff),
the Australian author of the book.
The woman quickly chose the protagonist,
Julie Andrews, after hearing her only once on the
phone but, on other matters, she went along
with Walt very little, as with Sherman brothers
(those ones who composed the successful
Chim Chim Cher-ee ).
The film, directed by John Lee Hancock, will be
released in U.S. theaters on December 13th, in Italy the following February.
The title comes from George Banks, who was the natural father of Helen Lyndon Goff and lived just on 17, Cherry Trees Street.
Tom Hanks a part, the cast also includes Emma Thompson (Poppins), Colin Farrell (Banks), Ruth Wilson (the writer), Jason Schwartzman, and Paul Giamatti.

‘Saving Mr. Banks’
ci prenderà per mano e ci racconterà
come uno dei film piú importanti dell’immaginario
collettivo sia venuto a luce.
Non fu una gestazione facile, si racconta;
ci vollero quattordici lunghi anni e non poche
furono le incomprensioni e le liti tra
Disney e Pamela Lyndon Travers (pseudonimo
americane il 13 dicembre, in Italia il febbraio successivo;
