libertà a confronto (5)

Steven Spielberg ‘The Post’: the most important quote

“In the First Amendment, the Founding Fathers gave the free press the protection it must have to fulfill its essential role in our democracy.

The press was to serve the governed, not the governors.”

bat affleck (3)

‘Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’ was my most recent vision, to save an Easter that ran the risk to pass without anything of special.
My opinion is that it is not by fault of SuperCavill, BatAffleck and WonderGadot if some people found difficulties in appreciating the film, in its meaning and structure.
A little fragile, maybe, the reason Superman must be hated for (just the accident? Luthor’s stratagems?).
A little difficult to follow, throughout the plot, the most important reading-key of the film, Continue reading “bat affleck (3)”

tarantino’s jewels…

Quentin Tarantino’s “the Hateful Eight’ is mainly based on the search of the Truth. And the Truth has a price.
Those ones who love the Truth are perfectly aware of the risks they run and the ancients used to swear on their genitals.
In Latin the word TESTIS, -IS meant at least two different things: witness and testicle, as well as in Old Greek, with the word ὅρκος (pron. horkos, “oath”), which was at the origin of the verb ὁρκόω (pron horkòo, “to swear”) and of the current English word “orchitis” (an illness).
High school professor of Latin acted as if not aware of but, when a character of the Plautus’ play ‘Miles Gloriosus’ used the word “testis”, he meant more than “witness”…

spunti di riflessione (2)

When human beings will have learned to love the Truth above their own interests, the world will have definitively done a big step forward.

The day in which presumption will be mistaken for intelligence, the world will be ended up.
